They selected a Remodel located in a historical section ofPhiladelphia. This period inspiredmaster bath remodel in Maple Glen, PA contains delicate details of theVictorian style blended with today’s luxuries such as the spacious shower andwhirlpool tub. “It waslittle more than a toilet and a makeshift sink,” says designer Dave Ceramiof Home Tech Renovations, who worked on the restoration project. The room had atub, too, but it was leaking into the master bedroom below. Dave workedto tie the originally installed, circa 1920’s, sinks to other elements in theroom. “We went through severaldifferent slabs of stone to find one that would best mimic the color of thesinks,” he says. Adding thebeadboard tub enclosure and matching wainscoting gave the bath a cottagefeel. Adding a more modern framelessglass shower stall enabled the flow of light throughout the room. Dave softened the modern look by addingsubway tiling and reproduction fixtures to the shower stall giving theappropriate historical look and feel. Dave says. “We look at what we need to do not only to make thebathroom look good, but also to make it comfortable.” HomeTechRenovations also reworked the plumbing, running hot and cold water lines to the thirdfloor for service to the newly remodeled bathroom. Chic,elegant yet simple. This master bathcontains the delicate details of the Victorian style blended with today’sluxuries. The end result of the bathremodel project is a happy union between design and function.
